Ride the waves of life's transition periods with the right mindset.
The art of life is a constant readjustment to our surroundings. - Kakuzo Okakaura
Life's journey often throws us unexpected curveballs, leaving us little time to prepare for the shifts that come our way. Embracing change and starting anew requires a resilient mindset and a willingness to adapt. From recognizing our core values to stepping into transition with confidence, here are 8 tips on navigating life’s transition periods.
Self-Reflection
Be clear on the ‘why’ of the transition. Take some time to reflect on your current situation and feelings.
Identify what precisely is making you feel overwhelmed, lost, or unsure and create space to sit with and acknowledge your feelings without judgment.
Visualise and set clear goals
Chart out everything in advance so that your brain feels comfortable with it.
Visualize it as you expect it to be. Envision your new reality vividly, then create a road map of some short-term and long-term goals. If it feels overwhelming, start with one goal a week.
Follow 3-3-3 Method
I call this time and task management.
Olive Burkmen’s 3-3-3 Method is a sure-shot way of feeling productive.
a. 3 hours on your most important project
Activities that needs your highest state of flow/energy
b. 3 shorter tasks
The urgent to-do’s that only take a few mins.
c. 3 maintenance activities.
Most important for a period of transition.
Self-care activities- exercise, journal, meditation, cleaning
Craft a Routine
Establishing a routine offers a sense of purpose and stability during change. Gradually build a routine that makes the transition feel less daunting, easing your nervous system into the new normal.
Declutter and Simplify
Organize your spaces in a way that feels good. Your room, your work/study table, your wardrobe.
Make space for new energy by decluttering your physical and digital spaces. A simplified space encourages fresh perspectives and new energies to flow in.
Celebrate Small wins
Acknowledge and celebrate your small wins. Romanticise the little things.
Ground yourself in gratitude. Focusing on the good things in your life shifts your perspective.
Harness the power of Affirmations
Speak it into existence how you want, what you want, what you want to feel.
Use positive affirmations to shape your mindset and manifest your desires. Speak words of empowerment aloud, such as "I am deserving," "I believe in myself," and "I am strong." Affirmations reinforce self-confidence and resilience.
Find your Center.
When everything changes and you’re in between a transition. We want to hold onto something that’s familiar and brings comfort to us. Something that keeps us grounded like reading, exercising, or talking to a friend.
For example- For me, it’s my morning routine of 20-10-10. 20 minutes of meditation, 10 minutes of journaling, and 10 minutes of reading a book.
Riding the waves of change is uncomfortable and foreign to our brains. Make self-care a priority. Have grace with yourself while you learn anything new. Love yourself through it.
The price of doing the same old thing is far higher than the price of change.

Loved the 3-3-3 rule. 🤌🤌
